If you want to visit a country as a tourist, for business, or to see family and friends who live there, you must first apply for a visit visa. Depending on the purpose of your visit, you will need to apply for either a tourist or a business visa. Tourist visas are issued to visitors who wish to visit a country for free time or sightseeing. These visas are only valid for a short period of time and do not allow the foreign visitor to conduct any business while in the country. However, the application process, eligibility requirements, and required documents vary by country.

General requirements

  • A passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of travel is required
  • Photocopy of the passport’s bio page
  • A copy of the two-way tickets must be submitted at the time of application
  • Evidence of financial resources through the most recent bank statement
  • Invitation letter from a sponsor/friend/family member in the overseas country
  • Statement of the sponsor’s/friend’s/finances in the overseas country
  • A copy of the sponsor’s passport
  • If you are married to an overseas national, you will need a marriage certificate
  • In the case of minors, the parents’ birth certificates and marriage certificates are required

Schengen Visa

If you want to visit Europe, you must apply for a Schengen visa. The Schengen Visit visa allows non-European nationals to visit Schengen countries in Europe for up to 90 days in a six-month period. The Schengen visa is accepted in all European countries that have signed the Schengen agreement. The Schengen tourist visa is a temporary visa that allows people to travel to European countries that are part of the Schengen zone.

US B1/B2

You'll need to apply for a US visit visa if you want to visit the US for vacation or to see family and friends. A B1 visa is required if you plan to visit the United States for business for a short period of time. In the United States, the B-2 visa is a non-immigrant visa. This tourist visa allows visitors to visit the United States for a limited time.

UK Standard Visitor Visa

Almost everyone uses the UK visit visa, also known as the Standard Visitor Visa, to visit the UK. You can stay for up to six months with this visa. You can extend your stay in the UK if you've come for private medical treatment by paying additional fees. You can extend your stay if you are in the country for an academic programme. If you need to stay longer in the country, you can apply for a long-term Standard Visitor visa with a duration of 2, 5, or 10 years. You can stay for a maximum of 6 months during each visit.

Australia Visit Visa

You can apply for visit visas under Subclass 600/601/651/444/461/417 and 462, depending on your purpose of visit. The Australia tourist visa is used by individuals, friends, and business executives visiting Australia to promote short-term travel and tourism. Visas are available in three varieties: Tourist observer: This is for someone visiting Australia for leisure or to visit friends and family. Anyone from anywhere in the world, including Australia, is welcome to participate.
